Seoul: A Mini-Memoir

“Seoul,” my Mini-Memoir was published today in Komerican Pie, a substack created by the dynamic duo of Aram Kim and Sarah Choi! While its release wasn’t timed to coincide with all the recent news about Korean adoption from the AP here and here and here, and the documentary by Frontline here, all these unflinching facts and online chatter of late have me downright shook.

I hope these words may offer some comfort and community to my fellow KADs—my chosen siblings—as we are forced to continually reinterpret, recontextualize and reprocess the trauma, heartache and willful lack of information about our origins.
